Russian Entrepreneurial Scientist Opens Award Winning B+B Collection in Edinburgh

B+B Collection Ltd has announced the opening of B+B Edinburgh - the latest addition to their award-winning portfolio of boutique Bed and Breakfast hotels. Situated on Rothesay Terrace, B+B Edinburgh is their third property. Financed by Professor Vladimir Kulchitsky and his business partner, Penny Brown (the originator of the B+B concept) the move serves as part of the company's expansion plans to open properties in key tourism locations throughout the UK. Other properties include B+B Belgravia, London and B+B Weymouth.

The B+B concept is the brainchild of a group of like-minded professional hoteliers who have rewritten the rules for a new concept of luxury Bed and Breakfast hotels for the 21st century. The fresh approach has been awarded Gold for the best B&B concept two years in a row at the Visit London Awards. The B+B Collection offers a modern, contemporary environment at affordable rates. Design, service, quality and comfort are all part of the philosophy.

Nestled in Edinburgh's West End, B+B Edinburgh, 3 Rothesay Terrace, was originally built for John Ritchie Findley, the previous owner of the Scotsman newspaper. The building was erected in 1883 and designed by renowned architect of the time Sidney Mitchell, Findley's house being his first independent architectural commission.

B+B Edinburgh is a privately owned boutique bed and breakfast offering affordable 4 star accommodation. The property has 22 contemporarily designed bedrooms (ranging from single to family suite) equipped with double bed, bath or showering facilities, flat screen TV, cable TV, direct dial phone with free national calls and free Wi-Fi access. The building has a Grade II listed facade with 4 floors and the hotel offers a lift to all floors for guests' convenience.

Penny Brown, operator and co-investor of B+B Edinburgh commented: "We are very keen to develop our brand and Edinburgh was always at the top of our list in terms of location. The former Melvin House Hotel is an iconic building with the most amazing interior. It is a perfect match for the concept and we are looking forward to developing the business and to building relationships with the local community".

The property boasts a number of additional features. Located in the drawing room at the front of the hotel with views out to Rothesay Terrace, there is a fully licensed bar offering a wide selection of wines, beers, whisky and soft drinks. There is also a library lounge with an open fire, located to the front of the building on the first floor and equipped with guest lap tops, daily newspapers, fresh coffee, teas, biscuits and hot chocolate 24 hours a day.

A guest staying at B+B Edinburgh can choose between a full cooked Scottish or continental breakfast which is served each morning from 07:30 - 10:00 hrs Monday to Saturday and from 08.00 - 10:30 hrs on Sundays in the light and airy breakfast room on the ground floor of the building.

The B+B Collection was established in 2005.
