Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2018

Edinburgh Marathon Festival-2018

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival will take place on Sunday 27 May 2018. The race starts from Potterow (10:00 sharp). The course winds its way through Edinburgh and finishes at Pinkie Playing Fields.

The event is sponsored and organised by Diabetes UK. This leading British-based patient, healthcare, professional and research charity cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes. Considering the fact that since 1996, the number of people diagnosed with diabetes in the UK has risen from 1.4 million to 3.5 million, Diabetes UK is a very worthy cause.

The course is fast and flat which is perfect for anyone who is new to the sport. The event truly has something for everyone. If anyone is not up for the monstrous marathon challenge, we recommend that you join the Hairy Haggis Team Relay. This family fun opportunity involves teams of four runners taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. The full 26.2 miles is split into 4 legs;  each runner on the team will run one leg.

Planning ahead

The Edinburgh Marathon Festival promises to be a ton of fun and definitely a great way to show your support for Diabetes UK. As you can imagine, Edinburgh is sure to be filled with eager runners out to enjoy the day. Travellers from further afield should try find accommodation for the weekend; however, we must warn you that accommodation at this time of year is in high demand. B+B Edinburgh is perfectly located in the heart if the city with easy access routes to all the day’s activities. Book now to avoid disappointment.
